Beyond Limits and Time,
Our Legacy Unfolds.

Welcome to Hero City, the capital of a reformed America, in an alternate timeline where a global event known as the Indigo Reset occurred on New Year’s Eve in the year 2000.  A worldwide anomaly that caused the entire population of Earth to be encased in a mysterious crystalline cocoon. For one year, every human being from the youngest child to the oldest man lay encased in a purple crystal coffin. Unable to move, unable to speak, unable to do anything but wait. For them time was frozen. But little did they know that as the world stood still, they would be forever changed. In the year 2001,  66% of the human race awakened from their crystal slumber, but when they emerged, they quickly realized they had been altered at a genetic level. For the first time ever, superpowers were born into existence and the world would never be the same.

With the emergence of superpowers, or ENGRAMS as they came to be known, the rules that governed the world would need to be different. During  what was nicknamed “The Lost Year”, government, world trade, and industry had been catastrophically disrupted. Nature had begun to reclaim the land and the planet had begun to heal itself. It was a new world. Which meant A New world order was needed to deal with the arrival of these new powers. In America,  the Index of Power was created; A governing set of controls meant for anyone with an ENGRAM. The Index began to shape and structure culture in a way humanity had never seen before while also creating a classification system for people with powers. Heroes were now at the heights of society and the better your engram abilities, the higher your place in the world. It was the law of the land. The new Constitution for a New America. But just like the old constitution, it has its flaws.

Hero City is a beacon for Awakened humans, a mecca for anyone with an engram looking for a way to make their life better. But even for those with powers, life is not always what it’s cracked up to be. Divided into six districts and provided varying levels of resources, and protection, Hero City’s redlining for certain groups when it comes to their Engram’s has created unrest in the Awakened community. Now, those rejected by the Index of Power must decide for themselves if they’re going to accept the life that was given to them, or if they will rise above it and become something more.
